This section documents how to access previously open orders and start new orders from various screen. In addition, we will show you how to change the status of tabs and tabs displayed.
The screens below will be discussed within this section.
There are various methods to opening a new table in the Write-On application:
Touch the [Tables] button on the bottom tool bar in the Order Entry screen. You may have to send or save the current order to activate the Tables button.
You must be in the Table Selection screen to retrieve an previously opened table. On the Table list, select the table to be opened and then touch the [Open] button (upper right screen)
To open a new table from the Table Selection Window, touch the Table entry field at the bottom of the screen, enter the table number using the keyboard in the Table numeric input area and then touch the [Open] button.
To return to the Ready Pad screen from the Table selection screen- touch the [Back] button on the far left of the Table List screen.
There are various methods to opening a new tab in the Write-On application:
Touch the [Tables] button on the lower toolbar at he the bottom of the Order Entry screen. You may have to send or save the current order to activate the [Tables] button .
In the Table Selection screen, touch the [Tabs] option at the top of the window to switch to the Tab List screen.
You must be in the Tab Selection screen to retrieve an already opened tab. On the Tab list, select the tab to be opened and then touch the [Openbutton (upper right screen)
To open a new tab from the Tab Selection screen , touch the Tab entry field at the bottom of the screen, enter the tab number/name using the keyboard in the tab numeric input area and then touch the [Open] button.
The Write-On for iPod Touch offers the ability to open a new tab with the simple swipe of a credit card. To perform this action, you must be in the Tab Selection screen. Once in the tab selection screen, swipe the credit card using the attached MSR (pictured below). The Write-on will read the customers name on the card and record it on the tab as the reference.
An alternative method to start a credit card tab is to select the [Actions] buttons at the bottom of the Tab Selection screen and choose the [Swipe} option. At this point you can swipe the customers credit card to open a tab.
Note: you must have an MSR device attached to the iPod Touch and Credit card processing enable to open a credit card tab and related functions.
To return to the blank Order Entry screen from the Tab Selection screen (in Ready Pad mode); touch the [Back] button on the top left of the Tab Selection screen.
This function is preformed using the command [Reference assign]. Press the “Cmd” button on the Order Entry screen and enter “R” in the “abbr” field using the keyboard or select the [Reference assign] option form the command option list on the Item screen.
Your restaurant may allow employees to allow access to one another's tables or tabs. This is a common occurrence in team service environments. This section describes how to access tables and tabs open by another employee and how to affect tables and tabs displayed on the Write-On.
By default, the Write-On is configured to show tables and tabs belonging to a single individual. If needed, you can view tables and tabs belonging to other employees by first selecting [Options] button of the Table or Tab selection screen. In the next prompt you may select [Choose All] to view tables and tabs belonging to others or [Cancel] to exit from the process and continuing viewing your own tables. Note that performing this function will affect both tables and tabs displayed on the screen. You may change the tables\tabs displayed to only your orders by pressing the same [Options] button and selecting the [Show Just Mine] option.
Note: The security setting " Share Tables between peers" and Share tabs between peers" for the proper station must be enabled in the RM BackOffice Station Configuration for employees to have access to each others tables
